Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026.

Fittsy is a private app for sharing your daily outfit with close friends. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Fittsy is operated by Edward Yan, Seon Sivasathan and Peter Hu, based in Ontario, Canada ("Fittsy", "we", "us").

1. Information we collect

Account information: your email address, username, display name, date of birth and profile photo, and your time zone. We ask for your date of birth only to confirm you are old enough to use Fittsy. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and email address they share with us.

Your content: the photos you take in Fittsy, who you send each one to, and when you posted it.

Your style (only if you turn it on): a description of the outfit in each photo you post, made by an AI service: its main colours, the pieces (for example "black jacket, denim jeans"), up to three style words and a short line about the look, and the totals for your week and month. It describes clothes only, never your body, face or surroundings. Photos with no outfit, photos showing more than one person, and photos you choose to leave out are not described.

Your connections: your friends, friend requests, squads, and the people you block. Reports you make about a photo or a user, with the reason you choose.

Usage information: actions you take in the app, such as signing up, posting, opening a notification or sharing a frame, and how long the app is open on your screen each time you use it. We do not record what you look at or type.

Device information: your device type and operating system, and a notification token so we can send the reminders you turn on. If the app crashes, an error report about the problem.

Permissions: Fittsy uses your camera only when you take a photo. It asks to add photos to your camera roll only when you choose Save. It does not read your camera roll or your contacts, and it does not use your location.

2. How we use it

We use your information to run Fittsy: to create your account, deliver your photos to the people you choose, show who has posted, count your streaks, send the reminders you turn on, keep people safe (including reviewing reports and enforcing blocks), fix problems, and understand in aggregate how the app is used so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads. Your photos are not used to train artificial intelligence, by us or by the AI services we use, and we do not use them for any purpose other than running Fittsy.

Your style: Your style is off until you turn it on. If you do, each photo you post from then on (and, if you choose, the photos you already posted that month) is sent once to an AI service so it can describe your outfit. Only you see the results, in your diary. We never use Your style on photos other people send you.

3. What other people can see

Your photos: only the friends and squad members you send a photo to can see it. There is no public feed. If you block someone, neither of you can see the other's photos.

Your profile: people using Fittsy can find you by your username and see your display name and profile photo, so they can send you a friend request. Your friends and squad members also see when you have posted and your streak.

Sharing to other apps: when you share a frame to another app such as Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat, the picture is made on your phone and handed to that app. It is not uploaded to Fittsy. The same applies to a Your style picture you choose to share. Once shared, that copy is governed by the other app's terms and privacy policy, and we cannot delete it. A frame of the whole squad's day includes your friends' photos and first names, so please share it only with their permission.

4. Service providers and where your data is stored

Your account information, photos and app data are stored in Canada (Montréal) with our hosting provider, Supabase. We also use:

These providers process information only on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. Some of them are based in, or process data in, the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect someone's safety, including reporting content that sexually exploits a child to the authorities.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your photos, profile and personal information straight away. There is no waiting period and no hidden copy: the deletion removes your files from storage and the account itself.

A few things are kept after deletion, without anything that identifies you: usage counts (for example, that a post happened on a given day), and reports you made, kept so we can keep the app safe. We may also keep information where the law requires it. Copies other people saved to their own devices or shared elsewhere are outside our control.

Your style descriptions are kept with your photos. If you turn Your style off, we delete all of them straight away. Deleting a photo or your account deletes its description too.

6. Your choices and rights

You can update your profile, turn reminders and notifications off, turn Your style on or off (or leave out a single photo), block or report other users, and delete your account at any time in Settings. You can also ask us for access to your information, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent, by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

7. Age requirement

Fittsy is for people aged 13 and older. Where the law requires a parent's or guardian's consent for someone your age (for example, in Quebec for people under 14), you may use Fittsy only with that consent. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

8. Security

Photos are stored privately, served only through short-lived links to the people allowed to see them, and access is checked again when a photo is loaded. Data is encrypted in transit, and only the people who run Fittsy can access it, when needed to operate or fix the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your sign-in details safe. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
